no solid food for 3-4 hours before the exam
Take regular prescribed medications
An IV catheter will be placed in your arm/hand to inject iodine-based dye
Wear comfortable clothes
You will likely lie on your back with your arms raised above your head
If you have diabetes or kidney issues, you may need to increase fluid intake to help clear the contrast dye from your body.
